B Bar: brand identity
Goal: The goal of this project was to design a restaurant inspired by one of the following categories: a song, a piece of graffiti, moves from break dancing, a specific hip-hop artist or beats from a DJ. Designing a logo, menus and business cards for the restaurant was a requirement but other objects could be designed and associated with the project.
Concept: The creative direction that I choose to go in, was to pick an artist and really focus in on a significant album that helped shape that artist in the hip-hop world. I choose Beyoncé’s self titled album, as I believe this was one of her first hip-hop sounding studio albums featuring some of her biggest hits such as Drunk in Love, Partition and 7/11. This album carries such a strong visual identity, using a single bold typeface along with a contrasting colour duo. Her album speaks volumes about feminism, girl power and being a strong women in society so I decided to create a cocktail bar with a target audience directed to women only. It features signature cocktails, titled after her songs as well as famous lyrics from this album.
